What are the parking options for the event?
Street parking is available on Prospect Avenue and many area side streets. There is also some street parking available on Asylum Avenue near the Elizabeth Park Little League fields. Please obey all posted parking signs. The city bus also drops off nearby, at Asylum & Prospect and Fern & Prospect.
Is the Show House handicap accessible?
No, unfortunately as a historic home built in 1902, this home is not handicap accessible. There are stairs up to the front door, as well as 4 stories of stairs throughout the home.
Is there food at the event?
No. There is no food during regular house tour hours. Special events purchased under a separate ticket may have food & beverage options and those details will be included in your special event ticket.
If you are looking for dining options near the Show House, the Pond House Cafe at Elizabeth Park is a 10 minute, 0.5 mile walk through the park. It is open 11:30AM-4PM Friday & Saturday, and 9:30AM-2:30PM Sunday. It is also a 5 minute drive to West Hartford Center or the Park Road neighborhood of West Hartford, both of which are home to numerous restaurants.
How should I dress for the Show House?
Please wear comfortable shoes as this is a walking tour on various terrains (stairs, grass, gravel, indoor flooring.)
Is there a minimum age to enter the Show House?
Yes, the Show House is open to everyone age 6 and older. Please only bring older children who will be respectful of the designers’ furnishings – no sitting on the furniture. Please note the event is not handicapped or stroller accessible as there are stairs.
Are my tickets refundable? No, tickets are non-refundable. Unused tickets may be transferred to another person.
Are my tickets reusable? Yes, your ticket is reusable during normal house tour hours! We invite you to come back and bring different groups of friends, family members, and colleagues to see the transformed home. Special event tickets are a separate purchase and not reusable.
What does the Junior League of Hartford do with the money raised at the Show House? 100% of funds raised from this event are used to fuel the League’s mission and charitable projects for the next 3 years. Our primary focus in the community is addressing the impact of systemic poverty on women and families in Greater Hartford. Funds raised at the Show House are deployed in grants to nonprofits making a difference against systemic poverty such as Journey Home, Inc. and the Diaper Bank of Connecticut, as well as in our own service projects.
